Patient Search

Search for a Patient

If the search fields contain criteria from a previous search, select Clear Search.

  1. Make sure Patient Search is visible. If not, from the navigation menu, select Search.

  2. Expand the Name section and enter at least one character in First Name and Surname plus a valid Date of Birth.

  3. Alternatively, expand the IHI section and enter the patient's Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI).

  4. Select Search.

  5. In Patient Search Results, records matching the search criteria display in a grid with the following columns:

    • First name
    • Middle name
    • Surname
    • Date of Birth
    • Sex
    • Address
    • Postcode

    Patients whose QScript information has been flagged as High Profile by Queensland Health do not appear in Patient Search Results, unless the user or practitioner has been given specific permission to search for the patient.

  6. Apply additional filters to each column header.

  7. Select a patient to view their QScript profile.

    When viewing a patient record that contains both medication history and a regulatory patient profile, the medication history is displayed first.
